This advanced technique is used to obtain tissue samples from suspicious, non-palpable lesions identified through mammography or digital breast tomosynthesis, which may not be visible on ultrasound. Stereotactic biopsy offers a less invasive alternative to surgical excision biopsy, helping to avoid unnecessary surgery for benign lesions while ensuring accurate diagnosis and patient care.
The Radiology Department conducts ultrasound-guided FNAC, Trucut biopsies, and clip placement procedures on a daily basis.
