Its radionuclide imaging and treatment protocols are regularly updated in accordance with the latest international guidelines, with a strong emphasis on improving patient care and minimizing radiation exposure.

As a recognized post-graduate training center for CPSP, PIEAS, and other prestigious institutes, the department is also deeply engaged in nuclear medicine research. It is home to Consultant and Specialist Nuclear Medicine Physicians who are highly regarded for their expertise in both diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine. The department boasts numerous publications in well-respected international journals with high impact factors.

Thanks to its commitment to providing top-quality services, the number of patients visiting the department continues to grow, prompting the extension of services to evenings across six working days. In addition to its pivotal role in maintaining the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System at AECH-NORI, the Department of Nuclear Medicine proudly holds the distinction of being the first IAEA-QUANUM (Quality Audits in Nuclear Medicine) Audited Department in Pakistan, and the second in Asia.
