Complete blood picture with Peripheral examination ESR

A complete blood picture (CBP) with peripheral examination and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is a comprehensive test that evaluates the components of blood, including red and white blood cells, hemoglobin, and platelets. It helps diagnose conditions such as anemia, infections, and inflammatory diseases. The peripheral smear provides detailed insights into cell morphology, while the ESR indicates the presence of inflammation. Together, these tests are crucial for assessing overall health and guiding further investigations.

Blood grouping PT/APTT

Blood grouping identifies a person’s blood type (A, B, AB, O) and Rh factor, essential for safe transfusions and organ transplants. Prothrombin time (PT) measures the clotting ability of blood through the extrinsic pathway, while activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) assesses the intrinsic pathway. Both PT and APTT are vital for monitoring anticoagulant therapy and diagnosing bleeding disorders.

Bone Marrow Biopsy

Liver function tests

Liver function tests (LFTs) evaluate liver health by measuring enzymes like ALT and AST, along with bilirubin and albumin levels. Renal function tests assess kidney health through parameters such as serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen (BUN), along with the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). Together, these tests provide critical insights into the function of the liver and kidneys, aiding in the diagnosis and management of various conditions.

Renal function tests

Lipid profile

Blood sugar

HbA1C

HbA1c, or hemoglobin A1c, is a blood test that measures the average blood sugar levels over the past 2-3 months. It reflects how well diabetes is managed and indicates the percentage of hemoglobin that is glycated (bound to glucose). Uric acid

24 hour creatinine clearance

The 24-hour creatinine clearance test measures how well the kidneys filter creatinine, a waste product from muscle metabolism, from the blood. The test involves collecting urine over a 24-hour period and simultaneously measuring serum creatinine levels. This helps calculate the glomerular filtration rate (GFR), providing insights into kidney function. It's useful for diagnosing kidney disease and monitoring renal health, as well as evaluating the effectiveness of treatments.

Thyroid Function Tests (FT4, FT3, TSH)

Free Thyroxine (FT4) and Free Triiodothyronine (FT3) indicate thyroid hormone levels, with low FT4 suggesting hypothyroidism and high levels indicating hyperthyroidism.
